Mummy Cupcakes

I made these "mummy" cupcakes for my boys' football teams - I signed up to bring snacks on Halloween. They're easy to make.
You will need:
cupcakes (made by mix or from scratch)
candies or sprinkles for eyes
regular icing
White Marshmallow Fondant for Mummy Bandages:
16 ounces mini marshmallows
1 teaspoon water
2 pounds powdered sugar
vegetable shortening (or non stick spray)
I made regular cupcakes and let them cool. While they were cooling I made white marshmallow fondant. Melt mini marshmallows in the microwave, with a teaspoon of water, mixing in between 20 second intervals. Once it is melted, sift powdered sugar onto the counter, then make a well and pour in the melted marshmallow.
Oil up your hands with either vegetable shortening or non-stick spray. Mix the sugar with marshmallows until it creates a ball with a similar consistency to play dough.
Flour the counter and roll out the fondant until it is about 1/4 of an inch thick. Take a ruler and make lines in the fondant. Most of lines will be straight but occasionally add in a few diagonal ones. Then use a circle cookie cutter about the size of a cupcake.
Ice the cupcakes with regular icing and place a fondant mummy on top. Using a small paint brush, wet the fondant where the mummy's eyes would be. Add eyes with either small candies such as M&M's or red hots or sprinkles.
