Delicious!
Too much Halloween candy!
What can I do with it all?
Put it in a cookie!
This wonderful cookie was born the day after Halloween! We had a TON of candy, and we had already eaten too much of it. I didn't want to waste the candy, so I baked it into a cookie! My family loved it! Each cookie has a little bit of candy, and every cookie is different!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter (salted, softened)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons hot water
3 cups white flour
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup nuts (we use walnuts) chopped
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped Halloween candy (stick to the chocolate kind)
Preheat oven to 350F (180C) degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars. Once fluffy, beat in the eggs, one at a time.
In a small bowl, add the baking powder to the hot water and add to the sugar mixture. Add half of the flour and combine, and then the second half. Then add the candy, nuts and salt. Stir to combine.
Drop by rounded tablespoonful onto a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool on cooling racks.
